Athletic Bilbao to sign Umbro Kit deal
EL CORREO reports that Athletic Bilbao and sportswear company Umbro agreed to complete a new kit deal, which could be announced in coming weeks.
A senior executive of the umbro company in Spain, who requested anonymity on the grounds that he is not authorized by Umbro to give details of the talks, admitted yesterday to the El Correo newspaper that there was contact and added that "we believe that the negotiations will be completed soon. "
The sources anticipate that the contract between the Athletic and Umbro will be for three or four seasons.
This is because the objective of both sides is guaranteed stability.
The market shows that, after Madrid and Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao shirts are very popular, around 60,000 shirts are sold each year.
In its negotiations to find a sportswear company, Athletic has also negotiated with the Italian Kappa and Errea, but Umbro will eventually be chosen.

Anyway, I don´t think signing to a kit manufacturer from outside would do any harm to their history, and they may end up getting nice bucks from the sponsorship and jersey sales.
