Celtic FC announced that it has agreed a new five-year kit deal with NIKE, the world's leading sports brand. The new agreement will begin in the summer of 2010.

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: “We are absolutely delighted to announce this new deal with NIKE. To once again secure a partnership of this kind with the world's leading sports brand is tremendous news for Celtic Football Club.

“It is a deal which extends our global profile and reach and one which will bring great benefit to the Club. Clearly, it is most satisfying that the Club is making such progress and striving forward in this manner.

“At all times, Celtic strives for excellence on and off the field. It is fitting that, as Champions of Scotland and a regular UEFA Champions League participant, we are to continue our partnership with NIKE, one of the most prestigious brands in sport.

“Clearly, it is also pleasing that NIKE once again sees Celtic as one of the leading names in world football and is happy to continue our association.

“The Club has developed an excellent relationship with NIKE already after four successful years of commercial partnership and we now look forward with confidence to making it a decade of continued success for both organisations.

"Celtic Football Club has the best supporters in the world and a global reach of which we are extremely proud.

“Through our association with NIKE, the Club has already made a great impact on satisfying the demand from its huge global support. This extended relationship will allow us to further achieve our aspirations both at home and abroad.

Bert Hoyt, VP and GM of Nike Global Football added: “We are delighted to be signing a new contract with Celtic and extending our partnership with the Club for five year more years.

“Nike Football is about innovating for the greatest clubs in the world and Celtic is definitely one of those teams. We look forward to continuing to build on the excellent relationship NIKE has with the Club and its fans between now and 2015.”

Yay! 5 more years of generic designs that, while not particularly bad, lack some inspiration! woo!

I hate Celtic in Nike kits. I\'d love to see Celtic wear Kappa.

I actually like Nike\'s kits, and don\'t consider them to be generic or boring at all. Nike seems to use the philosophy \"less is more,\" and as a result their kits are classic and timeless. With Celtic, they make the kits exactly the way they should be- white and green hoops. Nothing else. Look at this year\'s number- it\'s a real cracker, even from a firmly anti-Celtic point of view.

If celtic were to switch to, say, adidas, they would probably end up with some radical, modern looking crap that nobody likes. If they switched to kappa, they\'d be wearing some skin tight crap with logos everywhere. Seriously, Nike is probably the best option for someone like Celtic.

You must remember Glasgow Celtic\'s Green and White Hooped jersey is one of the most famous and instantly recognizable tops in the world, checked the official strip sales and only Manchester United sell more kits in the UK and Celtic are in the top 5 of worldwide sales. They do win their league most seasons but it is an inferior one compared to the top 4 European leagues( England, Germany, Spain and Italy). Due to this ( small country therefore reduced tv revenues) and in spite of it they continue to hold their own on the Uefa Champions League stage. Wherever one travels in the world a Glasgow Celtic top will probably be spotted being worn by an ex pat or a indigenous person. Nike\'s current Celtic top is stunning but the Hooped top would sell in droves no matter who the supplier was no doubt, at the money reportedly involved and even allowing for the current global financial downturn I would think Nike would be extremely pleased with this latest stellar club to keep in their \"family\".

I\'m a Rangers fan but have to say that the celtic nike kits (especially the previous one) have been great. Nice and traditional. I hate umbro and their zig zags and stupid art school reject designs. Anyone know who the next makers of the Rangers kit will be? I can\'t handle the thought of seeing a \"Rangers sign umbro deal till 2020\" headline.

Let\'s face it, it does not really matter who makes the Celtic shirts because although the technical aspects are important for the players, they always look the same.

MORE IMPORTANTLY
This site is for people to comment and debate on the asthetic elements and technological developments of new kits and I am sick of all the small-minded, foul-mouthed, barely-literate idiots who use the launch of a new kit as an opotunity to spout their pointless, brainless nonsense.
PLEASE stick to your equally pointless and brainless message boards where you can live in the past with all the other neanderthals.
THANK YOU

this is good because i think nike make the best celtic kits. they keep them simple but still look good i think this years top is the best they have made so far. i just hope that they dont keep producing the training kits like the one they have launched for next season . Most of it is horrible unlike previous seasons.

With all of the Comrade Che flags on show at Parkhead and similar anti-Capiltalist sentiments abounding the Celtic/Nike (the most capiltalistic organisation in the world )team up makes me laugh.

BTW - The Hun posts on this topic are as usual, an embarrasment. BJK, WATP, FTP - laughable rubbish - especially \"followfollow21\" - judging by your avatar you really have nothing to be smug about.

actually, Im suprised a few old firm fans (the ones that log onto this site and confirm that they are 1 bigots and 2 can log on to this site, as they seem to be living in a time and space that consists of 1690s Ireland, 1970s Ulster and the stone age. how about living in this century, and your home nation, Scotland?

On the shirts, I like the Celtic kits, they are classy and distinctive, and the yellow away is really nice. The white kit from two seasons ago was a classic.

If I was given the choice, I would have a kit deal with Le cog sportif, as I generally like their designs or Errea (very impressed with the designs for Burnley and middlesbrough -both retro and modern at the same time) .

Why do all these Hun faggots have to come in and ruin this? Why can\'t they just run around and turn Manchester into a hell-on-earth again instead of coming on here and turning this into a racist free-for-all?

Nike have made great shirts for Celtic. Glad to see it continue.
