Puma will return as the Feyenoord kit manufacturer next season.

The Rotterdam club will report on its website coming Thursday, that it has shaken hands with a delegation from the German football brand, and will play with the famous Puma logo’s on the shirt again from next season.

In Alicante, where Puma started in the Volvo Ocean Race Saturday, the necessary signatures were collected.

The contract is signed for next five seasons. Puma replaces Kappa, which in recent years was the shirt manufacturer of Feyenoord. The contract with Kappa stops at the end of this 08/09 season.

In the 1980's Puma was already shirt manufacturer of the Dutch club.

Especially the yellow Puma shirt from the 83-84 season, in which Feyenoord became Dutch Champion, speaks to the imagination of the loyal supporters.

"There will be a reference to that shirt," promised Sander van Gelder, chief executive of Puma Benelux, in the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad. "But I can not yet say how that will happen."

What amount of money is involved with the deal is not known.

Feyenoord director Eric Gudde expressed his satisfaction: "We are pleased with the return of Puma.''

This is terrible news, another average Puma shirt will be worn by one of the best teams in NL. Kappa made simple but somehow innovative shirt, Feyenoor Kappa shirts were all nice, too bad it is over...

Why can\'t they pick Canterbury? I mean they have more good designs

The only thing I hope Puma won\'t do is putting more than 1 Puma Logo in the Kit

In think the shirt is from the eighties and so could be the reason why it is back to front, could of course be the reason it spoke to the imagination( whatever that means!).
