E-mail

hull city adidasHull City AFC announced that it has entered into a long standing Kit Supply Partnership with adidas.

The partnership will see the world's number one football brand provide on-pitch playing kit plus a comprehensive range of replica kit, performance training wear and leisurewear for Tigers fans.

The deal means that City will join adidas's large portfolio of clubs which already boasts partnerships with clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool and national federations such as Argentina and Spain.

City's Head of Football Operations Adam Pearson said: "We are delighted to have joined forces with one of the world's leading sportswear manufacturers and we're looking forward to working closely with adidas.

"This partnership opens the door for a new and exciting range of club wear which I'm sure our supporters are looking forward to seeing.

"The Club would like to thank our previous kit suppliers for their support during the last three years and we now look forward to sharing an exciting and successful journey with adidas."

Nick Craggs, Marketing Director, adidas Area North added: "We are delighted to be partnering the Tigers and we look forward to working closely with the club to deliver the very best kit and products for the team and the fans.

"We also wish the club every success on the pitch and hope that they can get back into the Premier League at the first attempt."

Totesport will continue to be the Club's shirt sponsor next season and the betting company is delighted to offer its continued support.

"We're delighted to be sponsoring Hull City for the second successive season and look forward to helping in their efforts to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking," said Totesport Chief Executive Trevor Beaumont.

"We wish the squad all the very best for the new campaign and are proud to have our brand on both the new home and away shirts."

Hull City and adidas will be marking their partnership with the launch of our training wear range on Saturday 3rd July.

The Tigers' new home strip for the 2010/11 season will be unveiled at the Club's official open day at the KC Stadium on Saturday 10th July when fans will be able to buy the new away kit and pre-order the new home kit, which will go on general sale in early August.

It's like watching a club sell its soul to a catalogue. Don't do it!

Why pathetic? Ok I was exaggerating, but I do think it's sad to see a club with a distinctive kit (with "The Tigers" stitched on the back of the neck) change over to something you can buy at Decathlon.

why sponsor hull when theyve just been relegated why not go for another premier league team which would give the brand more coverage?

Cheap agreement for Adidas...

What's better sponsoring a Championship team with a high probability of a return to the EPL or a team already in the EPL.

Fans will still buy the kits et al regardless of division at the same price as usual.

The Umbro stable seems to be getting ever smaller it seems, despite the better quality in the design of the shirt. They have lost Birmingham and Hull from last season roster.

If they've only just announced this, the odds are that poor old Hull will end up with a catalogue special

Hahaha, that's exactly what I thought when I saw the announcement, a black and orange version of the Stoke template.

I would be excited if they were to get something with a lot of original details and everything else bigger clubs get, but we know that they likely won't. A shame though because Umbro were fantastic for the club. Hull's kits from their first season in the Premiership were lovely and original.

you dont get nothing exclusive unless your germany, spain, real madrid, ac milan, bayern, liverpool or chelsea et al

+2 # 2010-06-08 07:55
To be honest I don't think Madrid's stuff is that exclusive anyway, I mean their 2009/2010 home shirt is just a template job with a pretty logo on it.

For the other teams I totally agree. In my opinion t's not such a great problem as long as the templates look good, and after seeing what they can do for Bristol's new kit I think Hull (and Boro, Derby) fans should feel pretty good about what they might be getting

That's not true....

Chelsea's first adidas shirt was the same as the German national teams....

Boring team wear from a catalogue for Hull who are clearly skint already...poor effort I hope the fans see through it !

I am tired of getting nike and adidas second rate templates...very soon the majority of teams will be playing in one of 3 brands and will posess a variant of the others kit in some teamwear form. Why do they feel the need to sponsor/provide kits for Hartlepool, York City, Swindon etc. I'd prefer to see a wide variety of kit makers, some of the 'smaller' brands do come up with good designs and some fairly unique efforts, and also this tailored by umbro thing is over rated, its a fad to get you to buy kits

Well said. The smaller companies do a far better job. However they don't spend so much money on sponsorship therefore the big boys who do spend more sponsorship money have to re coup some of it by selling cheap catalogue tat !

This is an appalling move, the umbro kits where fantastic and stuck to the heritage and retro feels that where evident over the last few seasons, what are we going to get the nasty yellow newcastle strip as an away option (possibly why they moved to Puma)..... bad move Hull in my view!!!

I dont get what you are all talking about.

Umbro are an AWFUL make, all their training gear looks chavy and is cheap.

Adidas have all the best clubs, techfit, and much better training gear. They have chosen Hull beacuse we have over a quarter of a million fans around the city alone. More fans, more money.

Hulls kits by Umbro were a template ...very similar to Sunderland when we had stripes 08/09
We have had Adidas in 80s.

If we go back to stripes id love the Argentina template

at least we are pretty unique in having our colours (only Cambridge Utd have the same)
oh and its Black and AMBER
