According to the newsoftheworld, Liverpool FC are working on a new £60million - record football shirt sponsorship deal with Carlsberg, LFC sponsors since 1992.

Liverpool FC hope to conclude negotiations as early as this summer on an agreement which would eclipse those of Manchester United and Chelsea.

The club’s current 3-year contract with Carlsberg is worth around £10m a year - including Champions League bonuses - and ends after the 09/10 season.

Co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are out to top the 4-year £56m arrangement Manchester United signed with AIG in 2006 and Chelsea's 5-year £50m contract with Samsung. with a new four-year Carlsberg deal.

The Carlsberg logo on Liverpool has become iconic in the past decade or two. Sort of like Opel and Milan. It would be strange to see another sponsor on their shirt. But 60 million is a lot considering what most top clubs get from their main sponsors.

why can\'t they change to some other decent sponsors (such as Nokia or any electrical giant companies - such as Candy) other than having an alchoholic beverage company or betting companies printed on football jerseys?? It shows bad moral examples to young kids and young adults

Carlsberg have sponsored us for far too little.
We should be getting 60M minimum for a 4 year deal.
