With AIG announcing that they won’t be renewing their sponsorship of Manchester United due to the affects of the credit crunch Paddy Power have begun betting on the next shirt sponsor of Manchester United and there is already a strong favourite.

The most likely new sponsor of Manchester United according to Paddy Power is NBTY. Paddy Power offer 9/4 that NBTY is the next shirt sponsor of Manchester United.

NBTY is a leading global vertically integrated manufacturer, marketer and distributor of a broad line of high-quality, value-priced nutritional supplements in the United States and throughout the world. Under a number of NBTY and third party brands, the Company offers over 22,000 products, including products marketed by the Company's Nature's Bounty.

Sahara

Another new sponsor of Manchester United according to Paddy Power could be Sahara. Paddy Power offer 7/2 that Sahara is the next shirt sponsor of Manchester United. The name may not be familiar to many, they are an Indian group whose interests range from financial services to real estate. They also sponsor the Indian cricket team. It is thought United have approached several companies about sponsorship and Sahara have confirmed they are one of those companies.

Tata , Saudi telecom, China Telecom

It shows what a global brand Manchester United is when all of the companies being linked with Manchester United are international ones.

Tata are 3rd favourites at 8/1 with Paddy Power. Tata own several car brands such as Jaguar and Land Rover and it has been announced that they will be sponsoring the Ferrari Formula One team. Whether or not they can afford to sponsor both Ferrari and Manchester United in the current financial climate remains to be seen.

Also third favourites are Saudi telecom who are both 8/1.  China Telecom follows with 10/1

Pepsi And McDonalds

Other interesting links include Pepsi who are 16/1 and McDonalds who are 18/1 with Paddy Power.

To find out the odds on the next shirt sponsor being Yahoo, Google or the Abu Dhabi Group (owners of Manchester City)

shut up censored.

Anyway, who the hell are Manchester United? I only know of football clubs, not massive american-owned corporations that are billions of dollars, pounds, and euros in debt, with no real chance of ever becoming profitable. You can say all you want, but OT, even with all of it\'s history, is nothing more than a corporate shithole (the same can be said for Anfield, the Bridge and Emirates) and it\'s sad to see a once great club totally ruined by money. Sad thing indeed. I wish the sport wasn\'t only about money anymore, (thank god for Kaka rejecting City\'s bid), because then United could raise up again and become a great club, because I have respect for the true United fans (the ones that aren\'t from southeast asia, the USA, south america, blah blah blah) and I want, atleast in my lifetime, to see OT returned to the people (so to speak) and not make it about the luxury boxes, the suites, and skyboxes. Football is a people\'s sport, not a rich man\'s sport.

He\'s no FC fan, he\'s a Dipper who keeps repeating the same rubbish and calling people \"c*nts\", as if forgetting the fact that Liverpool (who are currently American owned and sponsored by a Norweigian conglomerate - coincidentaly Norway is where half of their fans are from) have just as many plastic non-local fans (woolybacks was the word for them in the 80s) as United and that they were the first English team to have (Japanese) sponsors on their shirts and market kids duvets and all other kinds of bollocks merchandise that is the norm nowadays.

Just because we are owned by the Glazers does not make us no longer a great club. We were debt free before the takeover and will be once again when they sell up, which is something that can\'t come soon enough.

Other than that, I agree with your sentiment.

Everton... Everton..
Oh you mean the club that can\'t do anything while Cahill is hurt? I remember United playing them recently... I don\'t think Everton did all too well.

I hate those east asia \"supporters\" (specially the japanese) who only cheer for a team beacause of the superstar in turn.

A few years ago they loved whatever team Beckaham was playing in, then it was brazilian Ronaldo, yesterday they loved Milan beacause of Kaka\', today it\'s ManU and CR7, tomorrow it\'s going to be Barça and Messi, and the next year it could be Man City and whatever superstar they can convince with all their money...

Thank\'s to them football is going to hell, becuase for them football is a matter of worship a superstar that appears on some nike, adidas, armani or pepsi ad... is not about loving the history of an institution that have or not been successfull, it\'s all about loving the colours.

Understanding that today, money it\'s very important

If they were a truly \"global\" club they would go down the Barca/Unicef route and give Cancer research or suchlike free sponsorship.

They won\'t though, some new global conglomerate will throw their tainted cash at them and the flabby Sky addicted \"fans\" will snap up their corporate branded shirts/socks/dildo\'s to feel part of the family.

Soulless, plastic, sanitised crap specially tailored for a retarded demographic

F.C United = the way forward

I\'d be delighted if NBTY becomes their sponsor...

It\'s an Adobe Photoshopper\'s dream. You could turn \'NBTY\' into \'NMPTY\' with a few swift moves of the mouse.

I\'m amazed no one\'s done it with my own team\'s sponsor (\'its\'...which all too easily becomes \'sh...etc\')

Erm maybe so,,, but if am right the Mighty Man Utd dont seem to play well when a certain Mr Ronaldo isnt playing! And yes 1-0 Utd bt it was a pen and dare i point out who scored it????

Btw The Prem is gr8 and that but the Bundesliga is the waay forward! They dnt allow foreign owners like all the prem teams who allow any1 with money who have no passion for the club no real love for it. Also the cost for tickets is amazingly cheap and the teams always go to their fans and show some appreciation, unlike the majority of prem players!

FOOTBALL IS NOTHING WITH OUT THE FANS!
