Plymouth Argyle are teaming up with adidas, the world's leading football brand.

The Pilgrims have agreed "the most commercially attractive deal in Argyle's history" with the global sportswear giant, who become exclusive suppliers of all their playing, training and replica kit over an initial four-year period.

The Green Army will first be able to see the familiar three adidas stripes at Home Park when they adorn the Pilgrims' new 2009-10 home kit, which will be revealed before Argyle's final home game of this season on Sunday, May 3 and available for pre-order immediately afterwards.

Pilgrims' chief executive Michael Dunford said: "We are delighted to be teaming up with adidas, a global brand renowned for excellence in every corner of Planet Sport.

"It is a fantastic coup for the club.

"Our partnership represents the most commercially attractive deal in Argyle's history and I believe it will be a fruitful and mutually rewarding experience for both parties.

"Our fans will also benefit from the high standards of quality and design that are synonymous with adidas, in terms of replica kit, replica training wear and leisure wear."

The replica kit and adidas branded merchandise will rolled out during the summer at the Centre Spot in Drake Circus, the Argyle Superstore at Home Park, and online through the official club website.

Thanks to Sam

the puma kits were nice and suited argyle as the home shirt was/is plain green and simple
but this can only be a good move as adidas is the biggest/best brand in the world!
lets just hope they live up to the expectations!

Keep her green!

Good news for Argyle and I hope they keep the \'solid\' green shirt colour. The look could be very classy given previous Adidas \'green\' team shirts e.g. St Etienne and Panathinaikos.

Believe me you don\'t want a green a white hoop combo. That look is Celtic\'s and from my own Yeovil Town experience everybody else who sees you wearing a similar look shirt thinks so too.

will it be the usual adidas lower league design.. wouldnt be surprised if its a green version of the current peterboro/macclesfield shirt or a green version of the derby home shirt from their disaster premiership year..

I would guess Plymouth\'s new shirt will be a bit like this, typical Adidas \"off the peg\" effort...

If not then probably the green shirt like Peterborough\'s current third kit

I\'m sure i t will be a standard design but good luck to Plymouth for securing the deal, Adidas will have paid more than puma to get the gig and it is well known that Plymouth have huge financial problems looming.
