Portsmouth announce Kappa Kit Deal

E-mail

portsmouth kappa

Kappa have signed a five-year deal with Portsmouth to become the club’s official kit partner.

The deal starts from next season but the Blues will wear a special one-off Kappa kit in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham at Wembley.

Pompey’s head of operations Lucius Peart said: “We are delighted to be working with such an iconic sporting brand and we look forward to building a strong relationship with Kappa.

“We can’t wait to see the players take to the field at Wembley on Sunday wearing their new Kappa kit.

“It looks really strong and we have really tried to integrate all the historical aspects of the club’s kit by being very careful and particular with the choice of colours.”

Kappa CEO Simon Bamber said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Pompey. Their long history and tradition – and above all their incredible support – makes us proud to be part of the club’s future.”

I can think of worse companies for Pompey. I do wish kappa could just stick to 1 logo on every shirt.

Cant understand the need for a one off kit for the Cup semi final..
Would have made sense to wear a shirt that would be used next season..
If the fans disapprove of the kit at 1st time of use, they could probably go and change it before the Championshi season starts..

But good change of kit sponsor though..

Beautiful kit, the Pompey colours seem to look well with the Kappa tight fit look. Best of luck to Pompey in the future and I hoe to see them in the Prem the next time around. Kappa are definitely a great replacement for Canterbury!

With Pompy's colours of blue shirts, white shorts and red socks it shouldn't really be too hard not to get it wrong, the only thing is the big logos, too much

Why did Pompey drop Canterbury as their kit maker?

I think Canterbury of Europe went into administration but I could be wrong, there might be another reason. Maybe the contract was up?

good replacement. happy they get generic adidas/nike/puma kts. they make nice kits, but i hate their logo. it looks trashy. i'm happy to see it isn't obvious on the shirt, because they made it gold.

Not much of a picture so its hard to make a judgement but its much better than the generic boring templates of Nike Adidas and Puma.

But why on earth would you want to supply thousands of pounds worth of kit to a club with no money.....Kappa must be bonkers !

Yeah Pompey love their pink. Salmon pink kits were their original colours. I'd like to see them do salmon away kits next season but Kappa probably wouldn't dare, so they've gone for the keeper's kit instead.

A special one off kit for an FA Cup semi final appearance. Oh please! Where will this end? They'll have another kit if they make the final. And maybe even a one off kit to mark relegation from the Premier league.

Another excuse to fleece the fans. Still, I guess they need every penny they can get at the moment.
