Rangers Announce Blackthorn Shirt Sponsor Deal

E-mail

The Rangers also announced The Club’s new shirt sponsor for the 2013/2014 season. The deal will see the famous Blackthorn Cider brand feature on the new Puma Rangers strip for next season on conclusion of the current shirt sponsorship deal.

Blackthorn Cider and Rangers Football Club share ambitious plans for the future and this one year partnership will help both parties achieve this.

Rangers Chief Executive Charles Green said: “We are very pleased to have reached a sponsorship agreement that will see the Blackthorn Cider name on Rangers’ strips next season.

“The arrangement is yet another example of leading brands wishing to be associated with Rangers and reflects the fact that the Club is one of football’s great institutions. The deal we have reached is very much in keeping with our business plan and strategy of developing significant commercial partnerships for the benefit of the Club.”

Blackthorn Cider has a track record of successful sports sponsorships and this will be the company’s first partnership with a Scottish football club.  The Blackthorn team is currently working with Rangers to develop activity around the partnership that will benefit the brand, the Club and its fans.

Paolo Mortarotti, Managing Director of The Shepton Mallet Cider Company, owners of Blackthorn Cider, said: “The Rangers fans’ reaction to the Club’s recent troubles has been remarkable and we are immensely proud to partner with the Club.

“Blackthorn is a popular cider across the UK, with traditional strongholds in both the South West of England and in Scotland, and we believe this partnership with Rangers will help deliver our ambitious growth plans for the brand.

“We wish Rangers every success this season and look forward to supporting the Club as it continues its journey back to the top flight of Scottish football.”

They are the biggest sponsor in the clubs 9 month history.

Hopefully they can hold on for their first trophy this year.

Not a bad deal for a fledgling club, and they get to wear some Puma Teamwear kit as well.

Glasgow Rangers had Simply the Best, Rangers Football Club 2012 can now have Blackthorn in My Side as a theme song.

Getting pumped in the Final 16 of CL is far better than getting knocked out of the Ramsdens Cup no? Ever hoist the CL trophy? The second tier, second rate Cup Winners Cup thing - that's right. Tainted past, dim future. Get over yourselves are realize your way is the wrong way. Call em Rangers, Rangers International, Sevco, or whatever - you will ALWAYS BE > Scotland's Shame!

As an impartial observer, I find it a bit sad how much time and energy is devoted to telling people that the reconstructed Rangers is a club "with no history". Rangers still play at Ibrox, they still play in blue, they are still supported by the same people.

They are in all intents and purposes the same club.

Who cares about the judicial technicalities behind the recontruction, other than small-minded and bitter Celtic fans, who can't stop kicking someone who is down.

Looking from outside of Scotland, I think Rangers fans are due a large amount of credit from the way they've stuck by the club.

You'd think with all they've had to put up with, it would be them that was bitter, but apparently its the high flying Celtic fans that are sour.

Doctors Your Uncle...you don't know your history! And you're far from impartial. Both sides can be blamed for certain things done throughout the historically bitter rivalry. I will say, as a Celtic supporter - I'm far from bitter. Bitter for what? We have it all now; the west end needs to be the ones to have humility.
