Rotherham United announce Puma Kit Deal

E-mail

Rotherham United pumaRotherham United are delighted to announce a new four-year deal for genesissports to become the new kit supplier commencing from the 2011/2012 season.

The new deal will see genesissports supply the club with PUMA licensed technical, replica and training kit for the next four seasons.

"We are thrilled to announce the association with PUMA, who are one of the world leaders in sports merchandise," said Commercial Director Steve Coakley.

"From previous experience of working with PUMA I know they will bring an expertise and professionalism which will lead to a long and productive partnership, this will be invaluable as we move into the new stadium and develop our retail operation. I believe this is another example of the progress we are making as a club. PUMA have associations with some of the leading clubs in world sport and to now add the name of Rotherham United to their portfolio speaks volumes about the direction we're heading."

Roger Harrison, PUMA UK Marketing Director commented: "We are looking forward to working with Rotherham United having agreed a new technical kit partnership. This will give PUMA great exposure throughout the Yorkshire area and with great kit and good service we will be an excellent partner for the club."

Russell Thomas, Head of Sports Sponsorship at genesissports, added: "We are pleased to have agreed a four-year technical kit and training wear partnership with Rotherham United and we look forward to working with the club as they embark upon a new era, in a new stadium, with impetus towards future success. The club joins a growing portfolio of professional and grassroots teams that benefits from genesissports' 15 years of experience in servicing retail and playing departments with high quality PUMA licensed product."

Parkgate Shopping will remain the main shirt sponsor of the new Puma shirt, whilst fellow club partner Perrys will continue to sponsor the back.

The deal will see the Millers' strip for next season featuring the famous PUMA formstripe logo. The two stripes on the new Rotherham United PUMA King shirt are inspired by a famous story involving Johan Cruyff, in which during the 1974 World Cup Final, he removed the third stripe from his supplied Netherlands shirt, out of respect and loyalty .to his boot sponsor - PUMA.

Below is your first exclusive look at the new Puma home shirt for the 2011/12 season, look out for more forthcoming details and designs of new away kit and sponsor to be revealed at the beginning of May.

Thanks to Bob

Another typical Puma cast-off template.

Is this the same league 2 that has 5 teams with vandanel kits that are all different templates?

Another team lured into the Genesis fake Puma castoff world. Thank God Watford escaped those in 2005 for the excellent Diadora kits. Pity they were never worn in the Premier League.
