Swansea City will grace the Premier League stage next season sporting a brand new look after signing up leading kit manufacturer adidas on a long standing commercial partnership.
The announcement will spark memories of the last time the club played its football in the top flight under John Toshack back in 1981 when the Swans also wore an adidas kit.
adidas will become the club's new Technical Partner and the official supplier of all playing and training kit.
The Swans' new home kit will be launched on June 18 in the Liberty Stadium club shop and online.
A new away strip will also be unveiled within the coming weeks, while an exciting launch involving Swans supporters will also be revealed soon.
Both kits and trainingwear will feature adidas ClimaCool and ClimaLite technologies offering heat and moisture controlling materials, ventilation channels and 3D fabrics which improve air flow to the skin in the key heat zones.
Swansea City's vice-chairman, Leigh Dineen, said: "We are delighted to team up with adidas at such an exciting time in the club's history.
"adidas are renowned for the design and quality of their sportswear and, after the plaudits we've received this season for our style of football, we believe it's the perfect match.
"It's ironic that the season we return to the top flight we are back with adidas for the first time since the club made their dramatic rise from the old Fourth Division to the top of the First.
"Up until now that has been our most successful period and I'm sure our supporters will be absolutely delighted with the news that we have reunited with adidas.
"They are a global brand leader with a reputation for quality - and that's where we want to be as a club for many years to come.''
To mark the new deal, the Liberty Stadium club shop will undergo a complete store makeover.
Steve Holland, Commercial Club Partnerships Manager at adidas, said: 'After a monumental week for the club, we are delighted to announce the partnership and welcome Swansea to the Premier League.
"We share a great history and look forward to some very exciting times for the club, the fans and adidas with some compelling 'off pitch' marketing plans to be announced over the launch period and into the season.''

Umbro wasn't unique it was 90% the same as forest away except forest had a red panel
Got a nasty feeling it will be not to dis-similar to Derby County's new kit for next season...shame really as umbro would have done a grand job.
whos sponsring the shirts?
#1. Get plain shirt
#2. Place logo on shirt
#3. You're finished!
BORING.
true, it is a clever marketing ploy to exploit swanseas crest design. just like Puma's sponsorship with mexican club UNAM Pumas. its a fit. still its a shame they went with adidas. they are just going to hand them a white t shirt with 3 lines and call it great. would much rather see their kits tailored by umbro
didnt Derby do the same thing in 2008 ?
new team in the Prem who plays in white and has moved to adidas .......
omens do not look good
Now, if I have it right, Liverpool, Chelsea, West Brom, Hull, Middlesbrough, Bristol, Derby, Swindon, Plymouth and Macclesfield, as well as Aberdeen and Scotland...
Funny thing is...Only Liverpool have a unique template...And even that is a template with a watermarked pattern..
Getting ridiculous now...It was only 3 years ago that Adidas were making decent kits...
FFS!!
They haven't YET actually, they have a season with ADIDAS to complete before they move to Warrior (Which is (I believe) still only a rumour, not confirmed)
Excuse my ignorance on this one but is it fairly recent the adidas-aberdeen deal?
Doesnt matter, they're still the kit makers for Aberdeen next season..
I was asking if it had been announced recently
As for the new one, it's bound to be a plain old Bristol City/Swindon-style template from Adidas.
No it wasn't. It is the same template as Blackburn (away) , Forest (away) and Wales (home).
Shit generic stadium, shit generic adidas white template shirt! Hahahahahaha I'm thinking Derby County all over again!!! It's a shame really cos Vetch Field was a proper good old traditional stadium with a proper passionate and intimidating atmosphere, and Swansea always used to have good olden fashioned rugged football kits (unique ones as well). They might be in the big time again but they've sold out all their traditions! Thank god I support a good old fashioned traditional club!
King Warrior says : an abysmal 1 out of 10
The vetch and those bergoni shirt were what swansea were all about! The vetch had a dark cold violent feel about the place. I can remember coming down on a supporters coach and getting my head kicked in down a dark alley in an old housing estate next to the vetch. When i go back to swansea as an away supporter this season, i'll probably end up in kfc or frankie and bennies on some generic retail park with a jesters hat on my head that some coporate firm are handing out!
King Warrior says the dark grey skies that permantley seemed to hover above the dark, cold vetch, piss all over the Liberty stadium and it's fake atmosphere!!!!!!
COYB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way fella, most of these people on here are f'ucking yanks and prob don't have a pot of glue what we're talking about here. Glad youz made it to the prem, but i'm a traditionalist!!!
King Warrior says give this guy a thumbs up, cos he's telling you all how it is. If you think otherwise you're delusional!!!!!!!
King Warrior thinks King Warrior needs to stop referring to King Warrior's self in the third person.
And Joham Thinks King Warrior is a D I C K
not sure about this now, because there are a couple of thousand Cardiff fans just converted to SCFC supporters.
You had a kit maker on the top of their game (making kits for three out of four of the Home Nations, and the Irish Republic), and you change it for one that churns out poor identikits? I can only hope Adidas pay more for theie services...
Good luck next year Swans :)
Used with teams using stripes such as Stoke had the same top as hull last year , so if I'm correct you can expect Stoke hull and west brom to have the same tops and the swans will most likely have a top like bristol city's away , maccelfield away kit but in my opinion i think swans would look good in Bayer 04 away kit with a black stripe instead of gold http://www.footballshirtculture.com/11/12-kits/bayer-04-leverkusen-2011-2012-away-adidas-shirt.html
http://historicalkits.co.uk/Articles/iconic-change-kits.html
Just expect a standard adidas template, shame because a nice "tailored" umbro shirt with white shorts and black socks would have been brilliant for the clubs 100th year of existance.
They could be having the Matchwinner kits again from the early 90's
Look at the jpeg image on the link below to see why !
