VFF (Vietnam Football Federation) has signed a 5-year kit deal with Nike, which started from January 1st 2009, right after the VFF ended its contract with Li Ning, a Chinese sportswear company. The US$5 million contract with Nike, will last five years until 2014.

The National Football team will have new kits provided by Nike from January 6 when they gather to prepare for the 2011 Asian Cup’s qualifying match against Lebanon.

The design of kits for official matches was approved by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) while that of training equipment has still been under consideration.

Nike is now sponsoring many Asian National teams teams including Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Yeah.... another nike kit in asean region.... how boring.... bet it will have the same template as Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia (minus the stripe). The same design with the double V neck collar. only to follow the nation colours. How obvious right.

anyway congrats to the viets on the nike deal and of cos the Suzuki Cup!!

So the Vietnamese Football Federation take on an American sponsor, oblivious to what the yanks did to their country all those years ago, talk about selling their souls...

Because obviously the people who run nike are the same people who were responsible for the war.

I think it\'s fitting that the Vietnamese are going to wear nike, the vietnamese are the ones who make the shirts anyway.

It is an intersting question. How long do you simmer over brutality and violence commited by the country( not company-Nike is really a worldwide company )
so are Nike determined to buy up all rights to all kits all around the world, once they have finished with football go on to tennis, rugby etc.

You are obvious stupid. It was long time ago and it belongs to history. You have to forgive and move on, not stepping in the same place over and over again. This is a smart chose.

So years after the Vietnam war, Vietnam signs a deal with Nike? First of all Nike kits are just awful, and to sell out to them is even worse.
