Vitalfootball reports that Wigan Athletic will announce a new shirt sponsorship deal at a press conference to be held at the JJB Stadium on Monday at 13:00.

The name of the new sponsor is a closely guarded secret, but rumoured to be a Norwegian company. Hyundai were also believed to be in negotiations to be the club sponsors and have their logo on the team shirts next season.

The shirt sponsorship deal is believed to be worth £800,000 for the 09/10 season with a clause to extend the shirt sponsorship.

The press conference will also see the re-naming of the stadium from the JJB to the DW Stadium and this will take place with immediate effect.

It is also expected that the club will soon announce that Vandanel will be their new kit manufacturers for the 09/10 season.

A Premiership team wearing Vandanel? That\'s a bit like the Queen hosting a visiting head of state and phoning out for a pizza.

So for Wigan, that\'ll be the 4th different kid provider in as many seasons. First it was JJB, then that failed (although the shirt was quite nice), then it was Umbro who made an awful shirt last season, this season, they\'ve got Champion, who have made a great kit. I can understand why they\'re switching sponsors and all that, but come on now, Vandane?!?!l You\'ve got to be fu*king kidding me.

Good job as most Nike shirt are complete ****...with a few exceptions. Why on earth would any company get on board with JJB boss . Vandanel will get screwed but their kit stinks anyway its for conference teams.

Surely a top half premiership club can attract a bigger name than Vandanel

DW Stadium? Presumably the DW stands for Dave \"egotist\" Whelan?

wigan\'s recent kit history has in the past been tied in with jjb\'s stockists due to the obvious links with dave whelan, and has in the past been cross promotional especially in recent years with the patrick (jjb owned) champion (jjb major shares) and obviously the jjb made kit this was also the deal with umbro but now that the link between jjb and dave whelan has broken there is no need to tie it in with the stores, from what i have heard jjb are selling off there soccer domes and fitness clubs due to the economic crisis

Lol you are all funny I can\'t believe how much time and effort you spend in slagging a team off!! And the kit suppliers well to me you are never happy in what they provide! If you don\'t like the kit then don\'t buy it. You don\'t even know for sure if it is vandanel or another supplier why not wait and see who it is and what the quality is before all the rude coments! Come on you latics.........

Great are you a true fan any way I have supported wigan for years and I can say I agree in what you are saying. Lets see what our new kit is going to be like if it\'s as good as champion or better i will be buying it. I have done alot of research on the vandan and there are yes I agree bad coments but also good you need to look into when the reports was made? I have seen good com\'s and I do like the doncaster shirt This company is starting to become more improved. And as my second team is the o\'s i actually loved the blue shirt which vandanel supplied. The puma is no better. :cheer:

Vandanel? What\'s vandanel? What is it about vandanel that attracts us. And the DW. Why the DW eh? If u wer sponsering something like \'Hyundai\' why can\'t u just the stadium \'THE HYUNDAI STADIUM\' that wil sound better.
