new Aston Villa 3rd shirt made by nike for the 07/08 season

This is the new "black" aston villa 3rd shirt for the 07/08 season. The shirt was photographed in the official Aston Villa store and is made by Nike.

The Charcoal and white shirt comes with claret shorts and charcoal socks. Aston Villa first wore black shirts in 1880 . In 1880 black jerseys with a red lion embroidered on the chest were introduced by William McGregor.

(William McGregor (1847 – 1911) was Director of Aston Villa. After helping establish Aston Villa as one of the great football teams of England. He later went on to found the Football League, the first football league in the world.)

The black, red and white kit remained the first choice strip for six years. Some believe Villa legend George Ramsay played a part in the introduction of the Scottish 'Rampant Lion'.

On Monday, 8 November 1886, an entry in the club's official minute book states: Proposed and seconded that the colours be chocolate and sky blue shirts and that we order two dozen. Proposed and seconded that Mr McGregor be requested to supply them at the lowest quotation. The chocolate colour later became claret.

once again, villa have let the fans down by putting out a kit that may only be worn once or twice, shame though, as i think it looks quite good! no word of it on the offical website yet!
