Real Sociedad used a yellow and green 4th away kit made by Astore. Before training behind closed doors, players Mikel Aranburu, Xabi Prieto and Gorka Elustondo showed the press the new 4th equipment option for Real Sociedad, which was later used in the match against Castellón.
This new design has been created "because our three kits clash with the one of Castellón," president Iñaki Badiola has justified.
This design is inspired by the colours of the original team of Real Sociedad, "el San Sebastian Recreation Tennis Club, from 1903", explained Badiola. The manufacturer Astore "has been helping phenomenal on this issue to change a little and pull out history, and we have decided to use this shirt." Astore has kept the design of the current kit, but changed the colours to yellow and green.

Questioned on if the branding and sponsors on the kit of the first team could vary, Badiola said that there is "a contract with Astore", the firm that manufactures their kits, "and Belca and Amenabar," the sponsors of the team, "we are going to respect, but all the sponsors have given us some flexibility for the Asian market and some friendly matches," said the president. On the other hand, "Astore are also working to try to help us gain access to Asian market, because we have very good relationship."
