A late decision by the Rochdale Footlall club on Friday afternoon has seen the club backtrack on their previous decision to finish the 2007-8 season with next year's kit following a large number of complaints by supporters.
The original decision featured in the Grimsby programme where it was announced that Rochdale be playing the final game of the season in next year's kit which would be unveiled on that day, with the kit, which may or may not be blue and black stripes, on sale after the game. It provoked great controversy straight away, but the past twenty four hours saw reports that the club were prepared to press ahead with their plans in the face of supporters' opinion.
However, that has sent their messageboard into meltdown as a very large number of Dale supporters expressed their concern at the centenary kit being ditched in this way. But the club has seen sense finally, and they will continue with the popular 07/08 black and white kit until the end of the season. The new kit will now be unveiled on June 1st.
