Scunthorpe United have announced the home and away shirt designs for the 2007/08 season. The Iron will wear a predominately claret home shirt for their first season back in the Championship.
The away shirt will be predominately white with navy and claret trim. As per the last three seasons, the kits will be manufactured by Carlotti .The shirts are available to pre-order and are priced GBP 39 adults and GBP 33 juniors. The club hope to have the home shirts available for the Open Day on Sunday, July 29.
Scunthorpe United, formerly known as Scunthorpe and Lindsey United, among other names, has existed since 1899, but did not join the football league until 1950. Their first game was against Shrewsbury Town. At this time, their ground was the Old Showground.

The team's local rivals include Grimsby Town, Hull City, Lincoln City and Doncaster Rovers. Matches between Hull and Scunthorpe are often referred to as Humber Derbies, due to the fact that the teams lie either side of the river Humber. The same applies to matches between Grimsby and Hull.

Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce that Rainham Steel will be its new Official Club Sponsor, commencing on 1st July 2007. The Rainham Steel Sponsorship is the biggest in the Club's history and is for a period of three years.

Rainham Steel commenced trading in Scunthorpe in September 2002 with an original investment of GBP 5m.The Company is now investing a further GBP 7m on new offices, buildings and a fabrication plant
The move to Scunthorpe has been a great success for the Company. Turnover for the year ended March 2002 was GBP 40m and it is anticipated the turnover for the year ended March 2008 will be GBP 120m+. Employing around 80 people in Scunthorpe, development plans will probably create another 30 jobs within the next 12 months.
The Company feels that the loyalty and commitment of its staff at Scunthorpe has contributed significantly to its success and the Company is very happy to continue investing in the Scunthorpe area. The recruitment process has already commenced with the Company looking for yard operatives/sideloaders/checkers etc. Advertising extensively around Premiership football grounds, Rainham Steel will also be taking perimeter advertising with Scunthorpe United.
