Bristol Rovers have revealed designs for a special 125th anniversary strip to be released later in the season.

The Pirates celebrate 125 years of football this coming season, having been formed in 1883.

The kit will be launched in early October, and online pre-orders will be taken from around the middle of September.

A number of other items will also be released to mark the landmark date in Rovers' history, including Black Arab scarves, mugs, t-shirts and polo shirts.

The strip will be registered as the club's official third kit for 2008/09, and it will be worn in one first team fixture in either late November or early December.

Further details on other special events to mark the anniversary will be announced over the coming weeks and months.

For those that don\'t know, a replica of our 1883 kit, when we were founded as The Black Arabs.

I suppose the PC-brigade would\'ve been up in arms if it was referred to as this but, hey ho, a fantastic way to salute Bristol\'s oldest football club.

UP THE GAS!

Yellow and black always looks nice together, as for this though not too sure as it is in a concept design and not a true picture, but i think it aint bad

It will look even better when the shirt is produced, i\'ve already got the new 08/09 Rovers Home shirt, and it\'s fantastic. This shirt will be one of the best away/3rd shirts we\'ve ever had. Great reviews on the club\'s forum.

I\'ll post a photo of the shirt when i get hold of one.

Dan.
