Aberdeen 2008/2009 Home and Away Nike kits

Aberdeen revealed and modelled the new home and away strips that the team will wear in the 08/09 season, incorporating the latest Nike styles and materials.

Aberdeen Football Club announced that Team Recruitment (Aberdeen) Ltd is the new club sponsor in a record breaking deal that will see the North East based company's logo on the Dons kit for the next two seasons.

Commenting on the deal, Pittodrie Managing Director Duncan Fraser said, "We are absolutely delighted to have secured this partnership with Team Recruitment, a company that has supported many club initiatives over the years. Team is an ambitious local business that sees the many benefits that such an association can bring to both parties and the fact that it complements our 'Your City, Your Team' marketing campaign so well, and launched by two local lads, is obviously an added bonus.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jim Geddie and Apex Tubulars for their fabulous support over the past two years, which has been very much appreciated."

Team Recruitment Chairman Terry Allan explained the rationale behind the move, "We've been involved with the Club for many years as corporate clients and box holders and this was something that was always on the radar, both from an emotional and commercial perspective. Our organisation underwent a major restructure a couple of years ago and since then, we have been working with this in mind.

"From a development perspective, Team is at the stage where the club sponsorship with AFC makes perfect business sense and will undoubtedly increase our profile considerably. I have no doubts whatsoever this will be a mutually beneficial relationship for all parties and everyone at Team can't wait for the new season to get underway."

Team Recruitment was represented at the official launch by Managing Director George Allan and GroupFinancial Director Cheryl Donaldson, who shared the top table with Duncan Fraser.

From today, supporters can pre-order the new AFC home kit, which will be exclusively sold via official AFC outlets and available from Tuesday 1st July. The away kit will be in the shops from Tuesday 5th August.
Ye Celtic got hit with an old style brought in for world cup 06 they said,

perhaps Nike don\'t think the SPL deserves up to date s*i*

    do like that kit though....
The upcoming Celtic yellow kit is a brand new but unimaginative template it just looks very similar to the Aussie kit for 08 / 10 but the collars are slightly different from each other and from the World Cup shirts of 06. Little details but they are there...

Aberdeen have the \"Template B\" as someone put it because they wear teamwear shirts as their Nike sponsorship isn\'t really a true one. They have a third party deal which means the third party sources the equipment from Nike and provides that to Aberdeen - hence the teamwear. Hartlepool have a similar deal and hence use the same template.

The relationship between Nike and Celtic or Arsenal or Man U is direct. Hence why the stadiums feature big Nike logos made from the seats.

To me it looks like a Man U training top but with a different badge, I completely agree with Jon\'s comments

    PUB TEAM design from Nike.

Aberdeen really need to find another supplier, one that supplies them directly not some off the peg teamwear nonsense from a big brand.

Really bog standard B-Team rubbish. Sad to see a potentially big Scottish team reduced to this dross and such dreadful sponsors. A far cry from the Adidas/Umbro JVC sponsored glory days - and time to retire the two stars, Real (for example strangely don\'t feel the need for stars above their badge - almost as LAUGHABLE as Rangers 5 stars)
