Aston Villa 2008/09 Home Nike Football Kit Launched

We showed you some leaked pictures of the new home shirt a few days ago and today Aston Villa's unveiled the new 08/09 home and away kits at a free public event in Birmingham.

Several of Martin O'Neill's first-team stars will model the new strips in Central Square situated close to the National Sea Life Centre. It follows on from last year's kit launch at Harvey Nichols in the exclusive Mailbox shopping and entertainment centre.

The claret and blue version goes on sale on July 24 while the away shirt goes on online pre-order from August 1 but is available from August 21.

Very nice! That collar is a great touch. I do think last season\'s sponsor looked a bit better though.

Nice classy shirt, retro but not dated. The size of the sponsor is fine, good that the charity gets some publicity too.

Decent shirt, but f*c* the villa and play up sky blues! =D

The acorns logo is good because it\'s simple it\'s not like a massive ugly sponsorship like Blackburns, Evertons and West Ham

I love this kit it is traditional colours, claret and sky blue but they have managed to make it look much different than last seasons one.

I think the main reason I like it is because it doesn\'t look like the template used at the end of the hummel era.

And by looking at it, it appears they have sorted the badge colours from last year - it doesn\'t look pink anymore!!

    Mike

Im a Blackburn Rovers fan and unfortunately it aint possible for most team to have a charity on their shirt as we need the sponsorship money, is a nice thought for the bigger teams like yourselves and chelsea

I wasn\'t sure when I saw the leaked pictures of the shirt flat out on the floor, but seeing it worn, and seeing the away kit too - I really like both! Think last years home and away shirts were both better, but I do like these still.

I\'m a Man Utd fan and I like this shirt, it\'s a typical Villa shirt.

Many people have been saying the sponsor \'Acorns\' looks s**t but I think it is great that a club are working with a charity and state this by wearing their name on the shirt, the same way Barcelona & Unicef do, I think more clubs should do the same.
