Umbro launch new 2008 Ireland home kit

Umbro have launched the new 2008 Ireland home kit. The kit, which made its first appearance against Brazil in Croke Park, last month is now on sale nationwide.

Comfort and ease of movement are central in the shirt’s design. The shirt has been anatomically cut to emphasise the athleticism of the player, while a twill mesh body fabric ensures that it is both lightweight and breathable. Other benefits include a hybrid neckline and a specially shaped underarm gusset, which maximise comfort and mobility.

Jonathan Courtenay, Director of Football at UMBRO Ireland said: "Once again Umbro are extremely proud of the shirt we have created and are confident that the players will be equally proud to wear the new Ireland Home shirt under Giovanni Trappatoni's leadership. We feel that the ’08 Home Shirt represents a powerful combination of the old and new."

The new Republic Ireland Shirt represents a new era for the Irish national team. They have recently appointed a new manager in Giovanni Trapattoni which will hopefully spur them to success. With a new manager in place their is now a great optimism for success. With players like Robbie Keane and Damien Duff wearing the shirt there is a good chance of Trapattoni leading Ireland to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
