West Ham United 08/09 Home shirt relaunch

West Ham United confirmed the relaunch of the 2008/09 home shirt.

The adult home shirt will be on sale from the club's Lakeside and Stadium stores from Saturday 6 December. The adult shirt will be priced at £30 and feature the logo of new sponsors SBOBET, while the kids' shirt will be £25 featuring the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK logo.

Fans who have already purchased the 2008/09 home shirt will be able to bring the shirt to either store and get the new logo applied free of charge from Wednesday 10 December.

whufc will have further information when available regarding the 2008/09 away shirt, with the intention being to relaunch this from Saturday 13 December.

West Ham United this week announced a shirt-sponsorship agreement with the Isle of Man licensed and regulated SBOBET until the end of the 2009/10 season that will also mean increased exposure for the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.

The partnership with the online sports bookmakers will see the SBOBET logo worn by the first team - replacing the squad numbers used since 20 September. The new-look kit will be seen for the first time when West Ham United play Tottenham Hotspur at the Boleyn Ground on Monday 8 December.

The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK (Registered Charity No. 1089464) logo is to be carried on all kit worn by the club's academy sides as well as on child replica strips.

now you can see how sponsors on shirts ruins the shirts, despite how great the \"sponsor\" or fund is.

I like the shirt design its kind of retro yet modern....anything with Bobby on is always good...even if I do hate the happy, bitter we won the world cup hammers !

I don\'t disagree. But don\'t retail the thing at £30.

Personally I think its better that just throwing the old ones away, imagine how many they got made with the XL logo just to get binned and then have a load of them made again, total waste and it will be umbro and not West Ham who are doing the \"overlay\" ....\"

Aha. So they\'re stitching patches over old shirts. Please, please, please can someone (with a lot of disposable income) go and buy one of these shirts and send me step-by-step pictures of the patch coming off to reveal XL underneath. If I\'m right this is a new low in marketing.

As for BMF, as I understand it the kids shirts wouldn\'t be able to carry SBOBET because of gambling laws and if Umbro haven\'t made any blank shirts so putting BMF on there was really the only avenue open to them.

I really, really want the shirts on sale now to be entirely newly manufactured. I fear they\'re not.

It looks like Umbro just put a patch over the old XL sign. It looks terrible.

West Ham are definitely forever blowing bubbles!

Up Monaghan United! The Magic Mons!

an absolute mess i think the sponser patch sucks probably so they can iron it on over the old xl logo on the shirts people have already purchased, should have had letters and logo only

I thought they\'d missed a trick with the cancer fund logo, but it\'s nice to see it on the shirt. It\'s better than just having a blank kids shirt, more clubs with controversial sponsers should do it.
