Leicester City will leave the front of their home shirts blank as part of their 125th anniversary celebrations next 09/10 season.

Foxes fans have decided by an overwhelming margin for the shirt not to carry any branding.

Some 65 per cent of supporters chose the option in a poll run on the club's official website.

Runner-up in the poll was Forever Foxes, third was the 125 Foxes commemorative logo, and fourth was Blue Army.

The final vote count was – blank shirt: 16,029 votes (65.15 per cent); Forever Foxes: 5,159 (26.9 per cent); 125: 2,009 (8.1 per cent) Blue Army: 1,405 (5.71 per cent).

Chairman Milan Mandaric said: "The fans have voted and we have listened to them.

"Next year our home shirt will be completely blank on the front. This was the overwhelming choice by our supporters and we are happy to accommodate their wishes.

"It will be a totally iconic and unique shirt that is fitting for our 125th anniversary."

Over 20,000 votes were cast in less than a week which the club hailed as a huge success.

The design for the home shirt will be unveiled to supporters at the final home game of the season against Scunthorpe United.

The commemorative kit will go on sale in the summer and be worn for the whole of the 2009-10 season.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, the club will give away a substantial part of a traditional club sponsorship inventory to supporters next season.
