And with stocks of the new red home kit again running low following a high number of sales, supporters were be able to purchase the new away jerseys for the first time last weekend.
Charlton retail manager Michael Rea said: "Given how late in the summer we finalised the new sponsorship deal with Kent Reliance Building Society, we're really pleased to be able to have launched both new kits before the start of the season.
"Despite the delivery problems, sales have been really good for the red home shirts, and we're expecting the away kit to be just as popular."
The away kit, which features black shorts and black socks with a blue band around the top, is reminiscent of the seahawk and blue denim away kit that the Addicks wore two seasons ago.
"The seahawk and denim kit was one of the most sought after kits in recent years, so we're urging supporters who want to get their hands on the away kit to purchase it as early as possible," added Rea.
Fans should note that the Valley Superstore will be closed from 1pm on Friday to enable staff to prepare the store for the kit launch the following morning.
A range of adult and junior away shirts will be available in store from 10am, along with the new range of trainingwear for the 2009/10 campaign.
Meanwhile, once the last shirt of the initial delivery of red home shirts leaves the shelves, supporters will be able to pre-order shirts for the second delivery of home kit, which is expected in the third week of August. Shirts will not be available via the mail-order hotline or online until after the initial delivery sells out.
The third and final delivery is scheduled for mid-September, when all stock will be available in the Superstore, online and via the mail-order hotline.
Supporters should note that boxed kits will not be available in junior or baby sizes, although there will be a full range of junior sizes available as separates. There will be no baby replica kits in 2009/10, but there will be a range of babywear specific to the kit design in the Superstore early in the season at very competitive prices.
