On Saturday Hertha BSC will take on Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the Olympiastadion. It will be a special matchday for the Blue-Whites, as the whole day will be promoting diversity! The club and its fans will celebrate a colorful, open-mind and diverse Berlin – exactly what Hertha BSC stands for. In Berlin you can be anyone.
Against Leverkusen, the club will be standing up for diversity, tolerance and respect in our society. Pál Dárdai’s players will wear a white shirt with a rainbow on it, as well as blue shorts and socks.
“Diversity is one of our basic values, which shapes Hertha BSC on a daily basis. One look into our changing rooms shows how sport connects people from all around the world and that people’s origins are completely unimportant,” explained Michael Preetz.

The club’s main sponsor TEDi has also given their support to the campaign. “We are pleased that, together with Hertha BSC, we are setting a huge example for diversity in our society. We were more than happy for our corporate design to take a back seat for this special shirt. The rainbow colours have been well chosen to represent diversity and tolerance and also clearly show our stance on discrimination and racism,” explained Sven Bialluch, managing director of the company.
All proceeds from the shirt will go to Hertha’s foundation for socialpolitical projects.
