Football Shirt Culture

Vancouver Whitecaps FC revealed the club’s new 2021 Home jersey, carrying on the iconic design that first emerged during the ‘Caps 1979 North American Soccer League (NASL) Soccer Bowl championship season.

The 2021 Hoop jersey features a blue hoop cut and sewn on to the front of the jersey.

Additional details include hoops around the sleeves, “The Village of Vancouver” on the back of the neck, jock tag with the Village logo, and a round neck as opposed to the collar from the previous Hoop kit.

The jerseys will also have two-colour cresting, inspired by the blue names and red numbers from the early 80s Hoop jerseys.

Nice shirt
Could have been better if the hoop went all round

Overall, beautiful!! However, it could have been perfect if it was an actual all-around hoop. The last one was, so why not this one. If it doesn't go all the way around, it's just a fat stripe. A gorgeous stripe, but just a stripe nonetheless.

I agree with the other two comments. This is a supremely classy and beautiful shirt, but it could have been a real masterpiece if only that was a genuine hoop. So-called "hoops" like this feel like a cheap ripoff!
