Argentina 2015 Adidas Away Football Shirt

This is the new Argentina Away shirt, by adidas, available to be worn by the Albiceleste in their 2015 Copa América campaign.

The navy shirt, recently launched, is trimmed on the hem by white and sky blue, with the former matching the adidas logo and stripes on the shoulders. The cuffs are are even darker hue of blue and the crest full colour, with a simple overlapping V-neck collar to finish off the effect.

The shorts echo the shirt, with the waistband repeating the effect of the top's hem, and the stripes are again in white. The socks are striking, in bold blocks of navy, white and sky blue.

I find these Nike/Umbro comparisons interesting for some reason. I feel like when Nike does more minimal designs for big teams there's still substance to them and they end up looking great, but if adidas tries to do it it ends up looking like an off-the-shelf adidas tennis shirt or something like that. I guess that can be said here, it's a plain design but there's little substance, it feels very generic. Even when Nike went minimal with the Dutch WC14 home kit, for example, it was plain but it had a great modern-retro feel with the beautifully embroidered crest and very unique nameset font. The only thing that this kit has that feels specific, comparatively, is the colors.

It's not bad but average in honesty, very World Cup 2002 looking, do like the trim on the bottom though.

I dunno, it's alright. Looks too much like a training/tee/Everton shirt.

Adidas just doesn't do minimalist very well. Leave that to Nike or Umbro

try doing the body different shades of claret-ish colour and sleeves light blue, keep the odd bit of yellow and that wont be too bad
