This is the new Leones Negros “Alternativo” (third) shirt by Mexican brand Sporelli.
The striking design features the famous Universidad de Guadalajara side’s red, yellow and black, here rendered in a graduated manner via, presumably, a lion’s mane effect.
As no shirt in the 2021-22 wardrobe carries the famous lion’s head crest writ large, this effect acts as a substitute and is overlaid with said crest in rudimentary position and size along with partner branding in white with black edging for clarity.
Despite the name it is marketed under, the shirt doesn’t appear to provide a great alternative to the first choice release - especially as it is expected to be combined with black shorts and socks like the Home version.
