This is the new Palmeiras Copa Rio 70th anniversary shirt.
The victory in the 1951 tournament - regarded by many as effectively a world championship in club football - is recalled in the Puma design in the Alviverde’s famous green, fittingly embellished with golden detailing.
The neck, cuffs and Puma logos all contrast the base in the pseudo-metallic tone, and this is added to by the neat trophy detail placed centrally.
There is also a Brazilian flag on the sleeve - representing a level of redemption for the country after the perceived World Cup disaster the previous year - and an elaborate transfer on the upper back spelling out the event being commemorated and its significance.
