Kawasaki Frontale, recently crowned Japanese J1 league champions, have revealed their two new shirts for 2022.

Based on manufacturer Puma’s “FORWARD TOGETHER” concept, the trio of outfield designs follow the same “tiled” design.

Each version - the blue home, or “1st”, and the (off-)white away (2nd), as well as the two goalkeeper shirts - also carries a 26th anniversary patch on the sleeve and the patterning is a reference to the local baths in Kawasaki, which the club has campaigned for.

The crests on both shirts are in full colour while further embellishment on the 1st shirt is largely in white and black, it’s in red and black on the 2nd, and the kits are completed with black and white sets of shorts and socks respectively.

The teams colours are great and the socks and shorts work well, but they are slightly let down by a poor jersey template with bad side panels.

The J1 champs have had some amazing kits over the past decade—these three surely aren't among them.
