Swindon Town announced that kit makers Lotto will be supplying the new home and away shirts from the 2007-08 campaign.

The new 2-year deal with the kit making giants will bring to an end the current deal with Lonsdale and will see the improved financial terms benefit the club.

Italian sports brand Lotto, who have signed a two year deal, will replace Lonsdale as the new kit makers and have selected two home and two away strips to pick from.

In the famous year of 1966, Adidas partnered with Le Coq Sportif. The partnership was based on complementary strengths.

Le Coq Sportif, the textile specialist introduced the German company to the world of French athletes, while brought its Leather skills and International presence to the table.

It would seem these days that every collector worth his salt has got a match worn Maradona shirt proudly displayed on his website. That might not seem strange in itself but the very fact that there are so many Maradona shirts described as match worn does beg the question.....Are they all genuine?

I have no doubts that during his playing career in Europe and, indeed, Argentina opposition players all desperately vied for the shirt swap with Diego at the end of 90 minutes of being dragged all over the park. Those players, on the whole, were not as ridiculously rewarded financially as today’s stars, which is reflected in the amount of former players who end up selling their treasured items.

It would be interesting listening to the kitmen of Maradona’s various clubs in order to ascertain just how many shirts he went through a season. Did he swap shirts every game requiring a new shirt each match?

The past few days a lot of Manchester city fans visited this site to take a look at the 1969 F.A. Cup Final shirt which was sold at Bonhams auction house. This caused some problems to our site, because this page contained more than 60 pictures, and we had to remove the article.  Anyway, here is your all-time classic.

Lotto Sport Italia was established in 1973 by the Caberlotto family in Montebelluna, northern Italy, the world centre of footwear manufacturing.In June 1973, Lotto made its debut as a sports footwear manufacturer. Tennis shoes signaled the beginning of production, followed by models for basketball, volleyball, athletics and football.

Sports clothing was the company’s next venture. In the first 10 years, Lotto focused on the Italian market and became a product leader in tennis.

Chris Maddox reckons that in a season that is expected to see an exciting Premiership challenge from Liverpool this year - it’s sportswear giant Adidas’ purchase of Reebok which is causing a fair bit of fuss too…

There’s something about having the logo of a brand like Adidas sitting proudly on your clubs shirt. It conjures up a feeling of world-class football, an ethos of genuine European heritage – of winning.

Liverpool, as a club with the very strongest claim to sit along aside the very best in the highest echelons of the game, not so long ago had their kit produced by this very German sportswear company. It was a perfect love match, but it was soon to end prematurely.

The Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) has signed a promotion deal with Nike sportswear company of an undisclosed value. However, at a function at the Manchester United Bar in downtown Jakarta, PSSI secretary general Nugraha Besoes described it as "10 times bigger than our agreement with our previous partner Adidas."

Nike will supply the Indonesian national team shirt for the U-15, U-20, U-23, senior mens and womens and futsal teams until 2011 as well as providing footballs for the Indonesian League and Copa Indonesia. It will also be involved in youth football talent development.

FAI and Umbro announce largest sponsorship deal in Irish sport. The Football Association of Ireland has announced a major sponsorship agreement with Umbro valued at a minimum €16 million through to 2014. Bonus payments based on international team success could see this rise to a maximum of €21 million during the period.

The unique agreement sees the grassroots of the game benefit greatly with Umbro set to sponsor key tournaments across different sectors of the non-senior game from 2007. The Junior, Schools, Schoolboys and Colleges/Universities strands of the game will all receive substantial competition sponsorship with Umbro as main sponsor of the following national competitions from 2007/2008.

 “We give our gratitude to Nike for making this partnership a reality,” said Dato’ Redzuan Tan Sri Sheikh Ahmad, the deputy president of the FA of Malaysia (FAM) at the official launch.

Following recent deals with football bodies in Australia and Indonesia, Nike has announced a four-year sponsorship of the Football Association of Malaysia. The sportswear company will provide the main attire for all national teams and also contribute to youth development programs.

The contract has an option for renewal for another five years. The partnership began last night with the unveiling of the national team shirt which will be worn by the senior side in the ASEAN Football Federation Championship, beginning in Bangkok.
