Joma starts manufacturing sportshoes with just 8 employees
Joma builds a new 500 square meter factory and now employs over 20 people. The new range is designed around sport and leisure.
The inauguration of the second factory with 2000 square meters and now employ 70 staff and has two new semi-automatic assembly lines. Joma exhibits for the first time at ISPO in Munich.

Joma produce Cardiff City's and Derby County's kit from the start of the 2005/06 season, while Southampton's Rory Delap, Naybet of Tottenham and Derby County's Spanish sensation Inigo Idiakez are all part of the Joma family.
Joma has extends its partnership with Charlton Athletic by signing a four-year contract to continue as The Premier League club’s Official Kit Supplier. From the company's modest beginnings as an eight-strong workforce in Toledo, Joma now has subsidiaries in the USA, Mexico, Panama, Hong Kong, Italy, Germany and the UK, with a distribution network in over 28 countries.
Three new subsidiaries companies were created (Joma UK, Joma Latinoamerica in Panama and Joma Brazil) finishing the map of Joma’s subsidiaries around the world. Joma signs a sponsorship deal with Valencia C.F., considered one of the best Spanish Football teams. Joma dominates the equipment market of Spain with more than 50% of market share.
The Honduras’s Selection plays its second World Cup. Joma’s sponsored ES Setif brings this trademark to its first FIFA Club World Cup. An Order Classification System is integrated into the Toledo logistic centre with a capacity of up to 30,000 units per hour.
Joma Sport and the Spanish Olympic Committee join forces and Joma becomes the sponsor of the main Sport entity in Spain. Furthermore, Joma sponsors the Olympic Committees of Portugal, Mexico, Bulgaria, Moldova, Andorra and Malta in Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
The Olympics have been the most important sporting event of 2016. Joma did not miss the appointment and became one of the sports brands with more presence in Rio de Janeiro. The Spanish brand sponsored 9 Olympic Committees, such as Spain, Mexico or Portugal, and 18 federations or sports disciplines, such as the selection of handball in Croatia, rugby teams in Spain, the national soccer team of Honduras or federations of athletics as Important as the Spanish, Moroccan or Mexican. Of all the athletes who participated in Rio, more than 10% dressed Joma. A visibility and notoriety that has had a huge positive effect for the company and that have placed the brand before one of the most important moments in its history.
For the first time in its 50 years, Joma has participated in one of the most prestigious soccer competitions with the sponsorship of the Romania Selection and has done it through the front door, inaugurating the competition against the host team, France. The match was seen by 200 million people. In 2016 Joma announces the signing of Swansea City AFC, which marks the debut of the Spanish brand in one of the strongest soccer leagues and with greater visibility worldwide.
