The kits of Liverpool FC have been detailed by many illustrators, each with differing styles. Graphic designer/sportswear designer Emre Gultekin has now provided us with his classy take.
Covering every Home kit worn by the Anfield side since their inception in 1892, there are plenty of tones of red, evolutions and regressions of the crest, as well as the gallery featuring the current European and World Champions’ use of a multitude of sponsors - as early-adopters in the English game.
Highlights include the red-on-white-oval badge of the 50s and 60s, the addition of gold in the glorious late 70s and early 80s, the adidas “Equipment” era in the 1990s, and of course the well-received New Balance designs of recent years, including that sported by this season’s Premier League Winners-elect.
But, after all that red, it’s remarkable how exciting it is to go back to the start to see the sky blue and white halves the side sported originally rendered by yet another talented designer.
