ABN AMRO will be Partner of the Ajax youth academy per January 1, 2015. The agreement with Ajax has a duration of three and a half years, until June 30, 2018.

ABN AMRO will appear on the jerseys of the youth teams, the women’s team and the Saturday amateurs. Furthermore, the name ABN AMRO will be prominently displayed at the Toekomst (The Future) sports park. The bank will also be Ajax’s social partner.

The agreement’s fixed fee comes to an average of € 2.550.000 per year. In addition to that, a variable component of maximum € 300.000 per year has been agreed upon.

Edwin van der Sar, Ajax’s Marketing Director: ,,ABN AMRO wants to support the development of talent in the Netherlands. That fits perfectly with our ambitious plans for the Toekomst. For me, it’s a nice coincidence that I had so much success with Ajax during the time that ABN AMRO was the main sponsor. Ajax and ABN AMRO have known each other for years and I’m pleased that we will be working together closely once again.”

Ernst Boekhorst, Sponsoring Manager at ABN AMRO: ,,Ajax’s youth academy is famous in the international football world. We’re proud that the name ABN AMRO will be connected to ‘de Toekomst.’ This partnership is a perfect fit for ABN AMRO’s sponsorship policy, in which talent development and building social partnerships play a key role.”
