Hansa Rostock will sport the "Lübzer" brand on its shirts for the 08/09 season. The Mecklenburg brewery Lübz GmbH, a subsidiary of Denmark's Carlsberg A/S group, has broadened its existing Premium partnership to become a main sponsor, with rights to the high-visibility advertising space on Rostock's chests. The sponsorship has initially been signed for one season.
"Lübzer was already a Hansa Rostock partner," says Hermann Crux, Director Marketing at Carlsberg. "Now the opportunity came up to give our brand exclusive placement on the Rostock shirt. We join the club in hoping for a good second-league season and a prompt return to the first league."

Philipp Hasenbein, Managing Director of the SPORTFIVE sports rights agency, which marketed the shirts on behalf of Hansa Rostock, comments: "Carlsberg has plenty of experience in sport sponsorship. We are pleased that they appreciate the longstanding ties between the historic eastern German club and the Lübzer brand, and are taking advantage of the prominent shirt space for their brand communications."
