Partick Thistle unveiled O’Neills Sportswear as the club’s new official supplier of team kit and leisurewear.

The three-year agreement will see O’Neills provide team kit for the Partick Thistle men’s and women’s first teams as well for the Thistle Weir Youth Academy squads.

The partnership takes effect from June and is a first foray into Scottish football for O’Neills, which has a state-of-the-art production facility in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

Gerry Britton, Chief Executive of Partick Thistle, warmly welcomed the new partnership: “We are delighted to have O’Neills on board. As an international sportswear manufacturer renowned for their hands-on approach, we are confident they will do a fantastic job of supplying top quality bespoke kits and leisurewear for our players and supporters. We are excited about our new partnership with O’Neills over the next three years and I know all supporters will join in offering O’Neills a warm welcome to the club’s family of sponsors and partners.”

Founded in Ireland in 1918, O’Neills specialise in the design, manufacture, personalisation and supply of performance multi-sportswear including playing kit, training and leisurewear. The company has become the choice of champions, supplying high profile clubs and grassroots teams in Gaelic games, football, rugby, netball, hockey and Australian rules across the globe.

Kieran Kennedy, Managing Director of O’Neills Irish International Sports Company Ltd, said they are delighted to have secured the three-year contract with Thistle and are looking forward to their new partnership with the club.

He said: “We wish to thank Partick Thistle for choosing O’Neills, a name synonymous with quality sportswear across the world. We are really looking forward to working with this long-established club and making our mark in the professional football market in Scotland.”

The Thistle Weir Youth Academy has strong connections to the North West region of Northern Ireland – where O’Neills’ main headquarters are located – through its involvement in the prestigious O’Neills Foyle Cup.
