In February 2007 these vintage Yugoslavia 84 and Ireland 85 & 88 matchworn shirts were sold on Ebay. The seller added the following information:

This auction is for a Yugoslavia match worn adidas 1984 away shirt. It was worn against Scotland at Hampden Park, Glasgow on 12 September 1984.

It was an International friendly "exhibition match" which Scotland won 6-1! (I have included pics from the match).

The shirt was swapped with Steve Nicol who in turn, a few years later donated it to the Sheffield Wednesday groundsman, who helped run a junior football team. He turned up one day with a big collection of shirts that he then handed out to the boys (nice gifts!). I bought this off the boys dad.

Yugoslavia match worn shirts are gold dust, but from this era are virtually impossible to find. The shirt is a long sleeved number 10 Adidas shirt with a thick Yugoslavia embroided badge stitched onto shirt. The adidas logo is a transfer which as mostly worn off. The adidas label states "Produced by Pletenina Ljubljana under adidas license". The number 10 is thick cotton material that as been machine stitched onto shirt.

I have checked record after record from this game but cannot find the Yugoslav team from that night. However, all my research tells me the player who was consistantly playing in the special No10 shirt was the legendary Dragan "PIKSI" Stojković. He is probably the greatest Yugoslavian footballer of all time, and as such makes this shirt a real treasure.

This shirt is a great piece of Yugoslavian football history, that will be priceless to the right owner.

Ireland 1988 home matchworn shirt

This auction is for a very very rare Rep of Ireland Match Worn Adidas Home shirt from approx 1988. This shirt was purchased at a UK auction house where the vendor had been a retired FA Official (see also my 1985 Ireland shirt). The shirt is a long sleeved number 7 shirt and was the number most commonly worn by Irish Legend Paul McGrath. This is the first time I have seen a shirt worn by possibly the most iconic of all Irish footballers, and from the most successful era of Irish football.

This shirt in long sleeves alone, is one of the rarest Irish shirts to find, add the fact that it was possibly worn by Legend Paul McGrath and it really is a one off piece of Irish Football History, that will only rise in value.

Ireland 1985 matchworn shirt

This auction is for a very very rare Rep of Ireland Match Worn Adidas Home shirt from approx 1985. This shirt was purchased at a UK auction house where the vendor had been a retired FA Official (see also my 1988 McGrath Ireland shirt). The shirt is a short sleeved adidas number 17 shirt and was only worn by Ireland in 1 or 2 internationals. Very rarely do these shirts come to auction. I can't give any match details or even any best guesses as to when/where this shirt was worn, other than it is quite a scarce item.

This shirt is a one off piece of Irish Football memorabilia, that will only rise in value.

Higest bid £155.00
