Juventus 1996-97 player shirt by Kappa believed to have been issued to Trotta for the Champions League Semi Final 2nd leg against Ajax played at the Stadio delle Alpi on the 23rd April 1997.
The tie was a repeat of the 1996 Final where Juve had triumphed in Rome on penalties. The Bianconeri had got off to the perfect start in their quest to retain their European crown racing into a 2-0 first half lead in Amsterdam.
Litmanen pulled one back but Juve headed back to Turin with a strong advantage. Lombardo, Vieri, Amoruso and Zidane got the other goals to seal a 6-2 aggregate scoreline. Juve wore their home kit in both matches with the iconic Sony Minidisc sponsor. Trotta was on the bench for the home leg but he Del Piero and Rampulla were unused substitutes on the night. The youngster had made his debut this season and featured once in the Champions League against Fenerbahce in the group stage.
