According to Adidas, the Predator PowerSwerve achieves eight percent more swerve and increases the power behind every shot by around three percent. Football legend Zinédine Zidane helped to develop the PowerSwerve , and has been working together with the Adidas innovation team to help further the evolution of the modern football boot.
Adidas players relying on the new technology include David Beckham, Cheslea's Michael Ballack, former Arsenal player Patrick Vieira of Inter Milan, and Manchester United's young Brazilian Anderson.
At the event, the players wrote their personal advice for young football talents onto the open shoe box. Additionally, these individual pieces of advice for football’s up-and-coming players will be featured worldwide on all Predator shoe boxes and in the Predator ad campaign.
Adidas has been the world’s leading football brand since the days when founder Adi Dassler made his first pair of football boots well over 80 years ago. The first Predator model was launched in 1994, and is widely considered the single greatest football boot innovation since the screw-in stud.
The new PowerSwerve is the ninth Predator model, and will be available in retail outlets from December. Further models will be brought to market in the course of 2008 ready for the European Championships in Austria and Switzerland.
