New Adidas F50.8 TUNiT 3 Football boot launched

adidas and Lionel Messi present the new F50 TUNiT football boot in Barcelona

With the support of numerous football stars, adidas unveiled the F50 TUNiT at the Centre Conventiones International Barcelona (CCIB). Lionel Messi and other big-name stars from top European leagues built their own F50 football boots on stage from individual components.

For footballers, customizing a football boot from the various individual adidas F50 TUNiT components to meet their own personal requirements now couldn’t be easier. This unique boot is the third generation of the F50 concept and features both outstanding modularity and the innovative and transparent "AllesKlar" ("All Clear") element. Top players from all over the world will be sporting the new F50.8 TUNiT boot on the pitch from 19 February.

The F50 TUNiT allows each player to customize the football boot according to both personal preferences and weather conditions. This includes choosing the colour of the upper. Prevailing weather conditions on the day of play also affect the choice of upper. There are five colours and three different materials to choose from. The first material is an extremely easy-care, durable and non-absorbent synthetic. The second is a soft leather and the third the ultralight and breathable ClimaCool® material.

Players can choose from several uppers, two different chassis, two different insoles and three stud systems.

As a next step, the player chooses between two different chassis. The chassis forms the interior of the shoe and holds the studs. The tuning options are a lightweight standard chassis for perfect stability and optimal distribution of stud pressure as well as an ultralight competition chassis for maximum flexibility in the forefoot and optimum breathability in combination with the ClimaCool® upper.

The selected chassis is then inserted into the upper and the studs can be screwed in from the outside. Three stud systems ensure a perfect hold and a good grip, whatever the conditions on the pitch. The patented adidas studs ensure optimum contact on all kinds of hard and artificial turf, as well as on various hard and soft natural turfs.

Finally, the player selects the insole to determine the boot’s degree of comfort and breathability. The premolded, soft and slightly cushioned insole as well as the somewhat thinner, perforated and thus extremely lightweight, breathable sock liner offer optimum comfort and are the final custom options for this football boot.

In addition to modularity, adidas has developed a transparent "AllesKlar" element that is both functional and extraordinarily attractive. The transparent TPU enables the further reduction of the weight of the shoe and, thanks to different degrees of hardness, results in much greater stability and flexibility. Since greater stability is required in the heel area, the material of the "AllesKlar" element is particularly strong and stable here, becoming softer and more flexible towards the forefoot. The result is a modern, lightweight and flexible football boot that can be customized to create the perfect personalized product for every player.

Players endorsing the F50 TUNiT include: Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona), David Villa (Valencia CF), Lukas Podolski and Bastian Schweinsteiger (FC Bayern Munich), Kevin Kuranyi (FC Schalke 04), Djibril Cissé and Samir Nasri (Olympique de Marseille), Jermain Defoe (Portsmouth FC), Ashley Young (Aston Villa), Christian Wilhelmsson (Deportivo La Coruna), Johan Vonlanthen (Red Bull Salzburg), Andreas Ivanschitz (Panathinaikos), Diego Forlán (Atlético de Madrid), Luís Fabiano (Sevilla FC), Arjen Robben, Javier Saviola, Gonzalo Higuaín and Roberto Soldado (Real Madrid), Diego Milito and Sergio García (Real Zaragoza) and Isa Halim (Young Lions, Singapore).

The adidas F50 TUNiT will be available at retail from 3 March as either individual components or as a complete package at a price of € 199.
