FC Barcelona Crest

The FC Barcelona crest serves as the official badge of the club, combining civic and regional symbols with football elements in a shield format that has remained consistent since the early 20th century.

The current crest structure dates to 1910, when a new design was selected through a club competition. It is divided into three main sections. The upper left displays the Cross of Saint George, also found in the coat of arms of the city of Barcelona.

The upper right features the red and yellow stripes of the Catalan flag. Across the centre sits a horizontal band with the initials FCB. The lower section shows the club’s blue and garnet vertical stripes, with a football placed centrally.

Earlier versions of the FC Barcelona crest, including the 1899 emblem, differed significantly in form and style. Since the adoption of the 1910 design, updates have been limited to visual refinements such as colour adjustments, outline simplification, and typography changes.

Variants introduced in 1941, 1949, 1974, 1978, and 2002 reflect these incremental updates rather than structural redesigns.
