Genoa CFC crest

The Genoa CFC crest is the official badge of the Genoa Cricket and Football Club, combining civic symbols with the club’s traditional colours in a shield format that has evolved over time.

The Genoa CFC badge is divided into two main sections. The upper part features the St. George’s Cross, a red cross on a white background, which is also associated with the city of Genoa. The lower section is split vertically into red and dark blue halves, reflecting the club’s rossoblù identity. Centred across this lower field is a stylised yellow griffin, known as the grifone, shown in a standing position. The figure is rendered in a simplified form in the current version.

Founded in 1893, Genoa CFC has used several variations of this crest, often incorporating elements linked to the Genoese coat of arms. The presence of the St. George’s Cross reflects historical connections between the city and English maritime influence. Over time, adjustments have focused on refining the griffin and simplifying the overall presentation.

In 2022, the Genoa CFC logo was updated with a more modernised griffin, featuring cleaner lines and an upward-pointing tail. The update was introduced for improved clarity across digital and media applications while retaining the established structure of the badge.
