Kappa Omini logo

The Kappa Omini logo is the defining visual identity of the Italian sportswear brand Kappa, widely used across football kits and apparel since the late 20th century.

The Kappa logo depicts two human figures seated back-to-back in silhouette. The figures are positioned symmetrically, creating a balanced outline that is typically rendered in a single colour, most commonly red, black, or white. The Omini symbol is often used alone or paired with the Kappa wordmark, depending on the application across garments and branding.

The origin of the Kappa Omini logo dates to 1969, when photographer Sergio Druetto captured an image during a Beatrix swimwear campaign. The photograph showed two models sitting back-to-back, creating a distinct silhouette. Maurizio Vitale Cesa, associated with the brand’s development, selected the image as the basis for the Kappa logo. The symbol was subsequently adopted as the brand’s primary identifier.

The evolution of the Kappa Omini logo has been restrained, with its core silhouette unchanged since its introduction and only small adjustments to typography and colour application. In 1978, the logo was combined with the wording “Kappa Sport”, before being simplified in 1981 to the Omini symbol with the Kappa name beneath.

Typeface updates followed during the 1980s, and in 1994 the colour treatment shifted to white figures with a red outline. Later versions have returned to solid colour silhouettes, maintaining the original form.
