Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, presented the Official Emblem and the Official Match Ball for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Dubai 2009 at a ceremony held today in Dubai.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum was handed the Official Match Ball, produced by FIFA Partner adidas, while the Official Emblem was shown on a giant screen during a spectacular 3-D presentation.
The event also saw the presentation of the official website for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Dubai 2009 in Arabic.
Dr Ahmed Al-Sharif said: "Without the great support provided by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, we would not be here for the presentation of the Official Emblem of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Dubai is honoured to be hosting this year's event. Beach soccer is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world and now football fans in Dubai will have the unique opportunity to watch the best teams in the world compete to win beach soccer's most prestigious trophy."
The Secretary General of DSC added: "The honourable attendance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum today and his personal involvement at this event demonstrates the UAE leadership's support for sport, thereby endorsing this international tournament too."
