Puma and the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) have presented ITRI, the official match ball for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be held in Morocco.
The ball’s design draws inspiration from Morocco’s historic zellij art, a traditional form of mosaic tilework that has become a defining feature of the nation’s architecture and cultural heritage. The intricate geometric patterns seen across ITRI’s surface pay tribute to this art form.
ITRI’s structure features central star geometry, floral motifs, and circular patterns, each carrying symbolic meaning. The star represents excellence and aspiration on Africa’s biggest football stage, while the petal shapes evoke growth and celebration. The circular composition reflects the unity of the 24 nations that will compete in Morocco. Presented in a red and green colour palette, the design also honours Morocco’s national flag.
The ball meets elite performance standards, incorporating PUMA’s advanced panel technology for precision flight, durability, and consistency during play. ITRI will debut during the opening match of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
