Brentford Unveil One-of-a-Kind Upcycled Shirts With (Re)Boot

Brentford FC have launched a limited run of bespoke shirts made by upcycling unused stock from the last four seasons’ Umbro football shirts.

Created in collaboration with circular design platform (re)boot and London-based collective ROW_____Z, the project aims to reduce textile waste and highlight sustainable fashion in football.

Each shirt is unique and handmade using parts of home, away and third kits worn during Brentford’s four Premier League seasons. The new designs will be available at the Bees Superstore ahead of the club’s fixture against Fulham.

Around 100,000 tonnes of sportswear ends up in landfill globally each year, contributing to methane emissions and climate change. To divert materials from this outcome, Brentford partnered with (re)boot and ROW_____Z to give their unused shirts a new purpose.

Every shirt includes a jock tag label by Avery Dennison containing a scannable chip. This provides a digital record of the specific kits used, and background on the project and its designers.

The shirts are priced at £120, sold at cost with no club profit. Proceeds go directly towards covering manufacturing and ensuring fair pay for all project partners.
