Sunderland AFC have unveiled four hummel design options for a special-edition Foundation of Light shirt, created to celebrate the organisation’s 25th anniversary in 2026.
Supporters are invited to vote on the final look, with the winning Sunderland AFC Foundation of Light 25th anniversary kit set to be produced as a limited release ahead of the November celebrations.
The Sunderland AFC Foundation of Light jersey forms part of wider 25th anniversary activity, with the final design to be released for retail ahead of the official anniversary month.
All four Sunderland AFC 2026 special edition kit concepts are presented in a white base with red detailing, reflecting the club’s established colour palette. Each option features distinct graphic treatments across the body.
Option 1 uses a radiating vertical pattern extending from the centre of the shirt, applied to both front and back.
Option 2 introduces a diagonal composition with dispersed red speckle effects across the torso and reverse.
Option 3 focuses on staggered vertical striping with tonal red gradients.
Option 4 references traditional striping through a red and white layout with a fading pattern across the upper section.
Across all designs, the Sunderland AFC crest is positioned on the left chest, with the hummel logo opposite. Hummel chevrons run along the shoulders, and “Foundation of Light” branding is placed at the upper back. Sleeve detailing includes anniversary references, while the construction follows a standard short-sleeve football shirt format.
Fans who participate in the Sunderland kit vote are entered into a draw to receive the finished shirt.
