Chelsea have introduced the Speedway Collection for 2025, a lifestyle range that draws on a lesser-known chapter of Stamford Bridge history. The club has revisited the era when motorcycle racing briefly became part of the venue’s identity, using that story as the foundation for a modern clothing line.
The Chelsea Speedway collection includes a chequered green and white polo shirt, a reversible bomber jacket, tracksuit sets, hoodies, caps and accessories. The polo shirt features a racing green and white square pattern with a contrast collar and an embroidered Stamford Bridge Speedway Motor Club crest on the chest. The matching tracksuit trousers follow the same colour scheme, using green panels with cream side stripes.
The reversible bomber jacket appears in cream on one side with stitched quilting and a large number 42 on the back, referencing Gus Kuhn who captained the Stamford Bridge speedway team. The reverse shows a full racing green outer with club wording on the chest. A green beanie, a scarf and several cap styles complete the range, each carrying early speedway typography or references to the original trackside signage.
Chelsea’s connection to motorcycle sport dates back to 1928 when the stadium briefly hosted professional speedway meetings. Crowds of up to fifty thousand attended early events, and the Stamford Bridge team went on to claim league titles before the sport moved on in the early 1930s. The Speedway Collection brings that chapter back into focus through apparel that highlights the colours, badges and text styles associated with the period.
