Not disguising its derivative nature, the Lovers FC “Engerland 98” football-fashion shirt references the Three Lions’ emotional campaign at the France 98 World Cup.
The memories of Michael Owen and, more painfully, David Beckham prompted Nike to nod to the Umbro shirt of that tournament for England’s Euro 2020 release and Lovers FC has followed suit, presumably choosing to honour captain Alan Shearer with the number 9 on the reverse.
