AC Milan 2022-23 Puma Home Kit

AC Milan have launched their new 22/23 Home Kit, inspired by Milanese heritage, new generations of Rossoneri and 'That Milan Touch'.

The black base frames the iconic black and red stripes into a progressive take on the AC Milan identity.

The Puma jersey features the Italian Tricolore on the sleeve cuffs and the Milan coat of arms on the upper back.

The new jersey arrives in two iterations. The authentic jersey features ULTRAWEAVE performance fabric and dryCELL sweat-wicking technology, making the jersey the lightest and most comfortable PUMA has ever made.

Classic Kits

The Replica version is made with 100% recycled polyester with dryCELL sweat-wicking technology to keep you dry and comfortable throughout the 90 minutes and beyond.

Going against the classic type that AC Milan have had in the past is normally a hard sell and any new kits will always be judged against the better, more well remembered strips.
If the kit was for another team I'm sure the opinions might be different towards it.
I guess the fans want and expect something else.

That's the point: is a shirt good or is he good for THIS club? It's not the same! Some shirts are good looking but doesn't reflect the identity of the club thy fit. And AC Milan has a strong one.
I think this kit would better fit Eintracht Frankfurt, Bournemouth or OGC Nice. But for Milan, it's no!

@Ref I think it does the job quite well and the more I look at it the more I like it.

You are right. I think that sometimes 'progressive' kit designs should find a way to strike a tone that respects the designs of the past and not try to take giant leaps forward too soon. As you mentioned it would be easy to match the kit to the teams you suggested but, I guess, we need to be open to change and AC Milan have at least tried to do that. Only time will tell if it was the right choice.
